The Best of San Diego Readers’ Picks aren’t chosen by a panel. They’re voted on by San Diegans. Honest Skin won in the Spa for Skin Care (Non–Med Spa) category. We were featured in the August 2026 issue of San Diego Magazine.
That’s what makes it special. The award came from the people who sit in our treatment chairs and send their friends our way. They trust us with their skin month after month. San Diego, thank you for seeing us.
Where It Started: 2020, With Nothing but Passion
When we opened in 2020, we had passion and we had each other. That was it. No safety net and no guarantee. We booked clients from 7:30 in the morning until 9 at night. We bootstrapped every decision and prayed over what we couldn’t control. We ground through everything we could.
Somewhere in the middle of all that, we started building a team. (We shared more of that early journey in our press feature, from salon suite to flagship studio.)
This Award Is Our Team’s
Early on, we made a choice. We’d look for people who hadn’t been given a real chance yet. We wanted raw talent and big hearts, people who just needed someone to believe in them first.
So we poured into them. We trained them and challenged them. We watched them become some of the most incredible estheticians in this city. Meet the people behind Honest Skin.
